Can learning be more playful for both students and teachers?
Renowned educator and author Sir Ken Robinson, famously stated, "Creativity is as important as literacy." This sentiment underscores the fundamental role of play in education. Research supports the notion that play enhances cognitive abilities, creativity, and emotional intelligence. Dr. Stuart Brown, founder of the National Institute for Play, affirms, "Play shapes our brain, fosters empathy, and promotes adaptability."
Even neuroscientists have studied the neurological mechanisms underlying play and learning. Dr. Sergio Pellis, a researcher at the University of Lethbridge, notes, "Play is not frivolous; it's a powerful mode of learning that shapes the architecture of the developing brain." Through play, children engage in exploration, experimentation, and social interaction, laying the foundation for lifelong learning.
"PLAYTELLIGENCE: Play and Learning Beyond Borders" presents an opportunity to delve into the transformative power of play in education. This series of workshops will explore ways we learn and grow: young and old developing cognitively, creatively, emotionally through collective play. In a world where education is increasingly seen as a pathway to success, it's important to explore unconventional avenues that foster holistic development across generational lines.
Is it possible for learning and education to be more playful for both students and teachers? How can we play practically and philosophically in learning, teaching, problem solving, and communicating?

Engage with teachers, students, researchers, lovers of knowledge, readers, educators, and learning enthusiasts from around the globe as we explore the transformative potential of play in education. Together, we'll unlock the boundless possibilities of PLAYTELLIGENCE and pave the way for a brighter, more playful future.
WHAT IS A GLOBAL PLAYSHOP?
Play with strangers across the world
We host these massive virtual workshops four times per year for hundreds around the world.
Every attendee has the option of joining workshops that range from movement and music to emotional support. It’s like a multi-lingual conference of play. Our last Global Playshop was attended by people from over 29 countries including China, Nigeria, Ukraine, Serbia, Israel, Peru, and the UK. Will you join to build the movement?

Yoga for Emotional WellnessList Item 1
Yoga means "yoking" together mind, body, spirit and breath (life force). In modern day living, we have gotten disconnected form our selves and others which manifests in the epidemics of anxiety, depression, loneliness, as well as a myriad of chronic physical, spiritual, psychological and mental pains. Join Jennifer Bullock, psychotherapist, yoga instructor and GPB leader in playing for world change in this session that this for everyone: you do not need to have prior experience or have to be physically flexible :). You will be guided through a gentle practice of breathing, movement and laughter to yoke with ourselves and one another.

A playful experience of learning fun tools for better listening, using not only our ears but our whole bodies. You can use Embodied Empathy to enhance all your relationships: among friends, family, romantic partners, and work colleagues.

Discover Your Superpower
Join us for an exciting and interactive session where you get to discover your unique superpower and collectively create a story about an equitable and inclusive world. Using the power of Magnifimagination, we will co-create a world where everyone is welcomed and respected for who they are.

Happiness Unlimited
The session focuses only on Joy & happiness. We would explore as a group how small moments of life bring enormous happiness. We would then create a laughter orchestra, laughter in different situations & end with a laughter dance.

This playshop deals with how we can explore our emotions using music and play! Please bring pen and paper and be prepared to play and relax!

Quien canta, sus males espanta ("He who sings, scares away his sorrows")
Usaremos una canción nicaragüense para contar nuestras propias historias sobre las cicatrices en nuestros cuerpos y nuestras vidas en unas pocas líneas. Una vez que todos tengamos nuestras líneas, usaremos la melodía de la canción para crear una nueva canción juntos.
Usaremos uma música da Nicarágua para contar em poucas linhas nossas próprias histórias sobre cicatrizes em nossos corpos e nossas vidas. Assim que todos tivermos nossas falas, usaremos a melodia da música para criar uma nova música juntos.
We will use a Nicaraguan song to tell our own stories about scars on our bodies and our lives in a few lines. Once we all have our lines, we will use the melody of the song to create a new song together.
